welcome
to the Charles Olbon and Beatrice Gilmore Home and School Association (HSA) website
Involvement in the HSA keeps you in touch with what’s happening in your child’s school. We want to welcome our two new principals: Ms. Jennifer Cenatiempo (BG) and Mrs. Merisa Rosa (CO). Our principals, along with staff members, attend the HSA meetings to keep parents and guardians informed of current and upcoming school activities, events and fundraisers, and other matters pertinent to your child’s education.

Join us!

Opportunities are endless, and your help is very much needed for the many fundraising events. Just an hour a month will benefit your child. Decades of research show that when parents are involved, students have higher grades, better attendance, increased motivation and self-esteem. Help out during the day at our school store or at various arts and crafts projects. Or, there are evening events, like pajama night and BINGO night. It can even be spontaneous when your schedule allows.

What does the HSA raise money for?

All money raised by the HSA, through dues and fundraisers, is used to enhance the students' experiences. Our association works with faculty, administration and parents to prvovide educational and fun activities for our children, which cannot be covered by school budget. These activites and events are intended to compliment what is being taught in the classroom, but are not possible without the support of our members.

We sponsor fundraisers througout the year such as Kid Stuff Books and holiday shop, and the annual Scholastic Book Fair, in which every student receives a free book. Through our fundraising efforts, each child is able to enjoy educational assemblies, a free yearbook, pumpkins at Halloween time, oranges and water during jump rope for heart, special treats during holidays, and much more!

How do you get started?

Fill out the membership form, and send it in, along with the $7.00 fee, with your child to school. Please write HSA membership on the envelope, your child’s name and teacher.

Come to the meetings. They are once a month generally on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm. Meetings alternate between the Charles Olbon and Beatrice Gilmore Schools. See the flyers that come home for more specific information on each meeting.

It is at the meetings where you sign up for committees, and find out about upcoming events and school happenings.

Just cannot make the meeting? Check out this website to see the list of upcoming events and contact information for commitee chairpersons.

Questions? Feel free to contact any of the Board members.
